FFXIV Tank mounts & titles - How to get them all (2024)

There’s no shortage of achievements within Final Fantasy XIV, many of which come with rewards. Title and mount awards are much coveted and although there are many of them, they are often hard to get and require some level of grind to obtain.

What are “Tank achievements”?

There’s a specific group of achievements which can only be attained by playing as a tank and meeting certain milestones involving high level duties. Each class of tank (Paladin, Warrior, Dark Knight, and Gunbreaker) has its own unique titles, as well as two mounts. Having undertaken and completed the challenge myself, I can confirm that they are not easy to achieve. They require a long and time consuming grind, but their rarity makes them a worthwhile goal.

What is considered a ‘high level duty’?

  • Any dungeon at level 61 or above
  • Extreme trials at level 61 or above
  • Unreal trials
  • 50/60/70/80 duty roulette*
  • Leveling roulette*

*Daily roulettes only count towards your total if they have the daily bonus applied. In other words, running them more than once a day does not provide any additional benefit with regards to these rewards.

Which mounts come with each class?

You gain the initial version of each tank mount by completing 200 high level duties and the upgraded, armored version upon completing 300 high level duties. Each class has its own animal up for grabs and they are as follows.

Which titles are up for grabs?

Paladin, Warrior and Dark Knight each have four unique titles to achieve. Gunbreaker only has two up for grabs, but we can forgive this as the class was only added with the release of Shadowbringers in patch 5.0. The first two titles (and the ones that don’t have equivalents for Gunbreaker) are the easiest to get and as most players are able to gain them through simply leveling their class, they’re not rare by any stretch of the imagination.

The last two for each class are a hard grind due to the amount of duties you must complete. Then again, by the time you’ve completed 300 duties and got yourself your armored mount, you might as well keep going, right? They are on the rare side in terms of titles owned by players, according to FFXIVCollect.

Is there an easier way to get these titles and mounts?

Well, on the plus side, you don’t need a full party to complete the duties and you can do them unsynced if you choose to do so. The most popular duty, at least according to Reddit, is Deltascape 3.0 and this can be completed in roughly a minute per run. Other popular duties include The Great Hunt (Extreme) and Emanation (Extreme).
