Highest and lowest incomes in every N.J. county, ranked (2024)

While New Jersey ranks in the top five in the United States for median income, there’s a wide disparity within the state for salaries based on geography.

The highest median incomes are clustered around Hunterdon, Somerset and Morris counties - the three counties that reported more than $60,000 median incomes, according to the most recent U.S. Census data.

The lowest median incomes were in South Jersey with Cumberland and Atlantic counties both below $40,000 a year, according to the 2021 census figures.
