No, accounting is not math, but it does use math in its processes. You do not have to be an expert at math to be a good accountant. Math, although important, is not necessarily the main skill needed to be a successful accountant.

Just like many jobs, you are expected to have a basic understanding of mathematics. However, skills such as computer skills and an ability to manage and analyze data may be even more important to be a successful accountant. Many accounting programs require business and management courses as well as statistics, as they all matter to accountants.
