What to Know

Critics Consensus

Zombie has improved as a filmmaker since "House of 1000 Corpses" and will please fans of the genre, but beware -- the horror is nasty, relentless, and sad*stic.

Yuri M The soundtrack is amazing Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/29/24 Full Review Nico B This movie is a bizzare expirience, but in a good way. This sequel might has well been a total seperate movie. Lost is the gritty, sensationalism. Instead we are left with a country-western grit movie that loses all of the original horror elements. The main character Otis is not the same psychotic character from the first movie, instead he is a ignorant, flightly idiot who is dragged by the other characters. On top of that Mother Firefly is dragged and essentially removed from the series. Several other characters are systematically eliminated and Capt. Spaulding is completely gutted. This is like someone buying a house to tear it down. Rob zombie clearly wanted to change direction and should have just made a new movie and left the cult classic gore-fest alone. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review Nate L Great movie with the same memorable villains from the first film in the trilogy. The movie shifts away from the more creative and in-your-face aesthetic that made 1,000 corpses so iconic. Instead choosing to be more grisly and realistic. This change comes with its positives and negatives. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/07/23 Full Review Brandon B This movie is great. Not a typical jump horror movie nor is it particularly scary, however it does make up for that with the psychological aspect of it. A crazy family killing for fun. It's a crazy movie with a cast that portrays that craziness well. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
